Welcome to The Arts Society South West London

We are affiliated to the the Arts Society, which has recently changed its name from the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS). Our objective, through lectures and visits, is to broaden our knowledge and appreciation of the decorative and fine arts.

We are based in Putney but our members also come from Barnes, Sheen, Roehampton and other surrounding areas.  Meetings take place on the second Monday of each month (except April and August) at 7.55 pm when we have a varied programme of illustrated lectures by The Arts Society (NADFAS) speakers who are all experts in their own specialist fields. For the Newsletter which contains the full programme of lectures and visits for 2020 click here.

We also organise day visits to places of special historic or architectural interest and have one study day in the year for in-depth lectures and discussion focused on the Away Trip for that year, which alternates between the UK and abroad.

A key aspect of our membership is the opportunity to work as Heritage Volunteers on local and London based projects.

Details of all our activities are set out on this website and we hope you will find them of interest. We welcome new members and if you would like more information about joining us, please click here

We also welcome visitors to our lectures at a cost of £7.(£3 for students).

Members may be interested in the lectures offered by our neighbouring societies, The Arts Society Wimbledon and The Arts Society Richmond.  Members attending any of those lectures would have to pay their guest fee.  And of course there are the study days, courses and other events of The Arts Society Greater London Area.

Welcome to our website
